Implants For All

FAQ

Conventional implantology with two-part implants requires a large amount of bone availability. In cases when the bone is not sufficient, bone augmentation, sinus surgery or a risky bone transplantation come into consideration. In most cases this means long waiting times and high costs.

With the SIMPLADENT® treatment concept, Strategic Implants – one-piece polished implants – are being attached directly to the cortical bone area. These bones are stable and sufficient for every person, and therefore are ideally suited for implantation.

This allows patients to get their new dental implants, which are immediately loadable, within three days. The Peri-implantitis (an infection that presents a common risk with conventional implants) has not been observed in treatments with the SIMPLADENT® Method.

The SIMPLADENT® treatment concept is relatively young – it was only developed 25 years ago. In order to be allowed to use this method, dentists must get a special training and authorization to SIMPLADENT®. Therefore, only the doctors who have an authorization to do so work according to this method. The SIMPLADENT® method is used in over 40 countries, and our patients have already received millions of implants worldwide.
Basically for everyone – with the SIMPLADENT® method, over 99% of cases can be successfully treated. This also includes patients who suffer from chronic diseases like diabetes, chronic gum inflammations or periodontal diseases. This is made possible thanks to corticobasal fixation and the significantly reduced peri-implantitis risk.
Yes. Because peri-implantitis doesn’t occur with the SIMPLADENT® treatment concept and because only surgical intervention is necessary, the method is also suitable for patients with weakened health.
Although at Dr. Ungurean’s practice we promote a healthy lifestyle, we make no exception for smokers. Smoking is not a contraindication to the use of the SIMPLADENT® method.

Patients with conditions after chemotherapy, radiation therapy in neck-head area or biphosphonate therapy, as well as patients with severe general diseases to whom surgical interventions are contraindicated, are generally not operated until the general condition is stabilised.

In conventional implantation methods, the implants are fixed to the alveolar bones. In cases when the bone availability is not sufficient for implantation, a bone augmentation is required. With the SIMPLADENT® treatment concept, no bone augmentation is not needed, as the implants are attached to the particularly stable corticobasal area of the bones. Our patients get their new dental implants within three days, without waiting for bone augmentation.
Yes. The SIMPLADENT® implants function according to the osteofixation principle – this means that they are fixed with the screws on the firm corticobasal bones. These bones remain stable throughout the lifetime, and this ensures a firm posture of the implants. In addition, with application of the SIMPLADENT® Strategic Implant® method, peri-implantitis has not been observed as a complication. That’s why the implants are very stable and serve for a long time. .
Because our motto is – fixed teeth should not be a luxury! And also because with us less time and materials are consumed: with the SIMPLADENT® treatment concept there’s no need for bone augmentation or bone transplantation, temporary solutions, etc. Our patients need three to five sessions within a period of three days to get their dream smile. This makes the whole treatment process less complicated and more affordable.
Yes. The main advantage of the SIMPLADENT® method is that it doesn’t require a high quantity of the bone. The SIMPLADENT® Strategic Implants are fixed on the cortical area of the bone. In this area even a smaller amount of bone is sufficient for a successful treatment.

In principle yes. Each case is individually analysed, and the treatment can be more complicated than in the first implantation, but if the corticobasal area of the bone is intact, the fixation of the SIMPLADENT® implants is absolutely possible. Then you will get your firm, beautiful teeth again.

Peri-implantitis is an inflammation of the periodontium (the dental bed) around dental implants. The longer the conventional two-part implants with large and rough surfaces are in function, the more the chances of developing peri-implantitis increase. It is associated with bone loss, and if the infection progresses, the implant has to be removed at a later time. Peri-implantitis occurs in 50% of the treated cases, usually after the healing if the implant. To dat,  there is no effective treatment against this phenomenon. All the attempts to clean the affected implant surfaces brought no positive results, as millions of new bacteria are constantly being formed in the mouth. With the smooth polished SIMPLADENT® implants, that have been used for more than 25 years, the peri-implantitis risk has not been observed as a complication. As with every dental implantation system, asymmetric dentition (bite) can lead to the implants overload. It is a cause of bone loss, and therefore regular control is extremely important. The implants must be checked 3 months after the surgery and then annually. Each time, the dentition and the stability of the implants are checked.  Check-up appointments are free of charge for our patients, but they are a prerequisite for the 4 year warranty of the system.

As it always happens after a teeth extraction, the bone rebuilds due to missing teeth and load change, so bone loss in the alveolar area can occur. This process also takes place during implantation and can take up to two years; after that it stops and the bone stabilises. In rare cases, a lining or exchange of the bridge may be necessary.

As with any surgery, you have to reckon with risks. This can be light to moderate bleeding, as well as pain or postoperative inflammation. All possible complications are discussed individually before the surgery.
